Climate change, a growing population and limited resources mean we have to produce more food under harsher conditions. Farms as a business need to increase productivity, reduce costs and be sustainable. On average, 40% of seeds are lost due to varying environmental conditions. We need to improve yield while reducing invested resources.
Farms with crops and animals require a huge amount of different tasks to be completed daily. The main issue with this is efficiency. Each task requires different amount of time, effort, skills, tools, equipment and resources. While every task on the farm has in theory the ‘most effective solution’, in practice this is impossible to implement. Farms cannot afford to educate themselves or invest in every single resource, technology and knowledge-base.
Animus is my most challenging project developed to solve these issues for 400 million small farmers around the world.
Our goal is to gather and assess all the information we can about the farm and its vegetation. We are collecting and analyzing data from every source, such as satellites, weather, soil conditions, human activity, and horticulture. We’ll plug all this information into our AI.
With the help of our advanced AI, we are able to provide farmers with a comprehensive guide on how to grow their crops most efficiently. They receive daily summaries that contain all the important information about their farm and predictions for the success of their crops. We also provide them with a co-created to-do list that combines both human and artificial intelligence, ensuring that every worker on the farm knows exactly what they need to do.
For this project, we are proud to announce the collaboration of prestigious universities such as Waganingen, Open University and FASOS, sensor technology providers, Artificial Intelligence specialists, Agricultural Robot developers, various governments and organizations like LIOF, DIL and OostNL as well as smaller companies like ISIS-IC.
Our solution, which is affordable and easy to use, has been successful in its ability to boost yields by an average of 20% around the world while reducing resources used. We have already received EU grants and received great interest from major organizations and governments.
We are working to create completely automated farms, taking as much work off the hands of farmers as possible. We welcome any inquiries about our efforts and products, so please get in touch with me if you have any questions or interest in joining us.
