Al Siha is an app and AI solution that makes reliable medical information comprehensively available in the linguistically diverse area of (rural) Tunisia.
The British National Health Service (NHS) has created an enormous database describing countless diseases, conditions and medications, all written in comprehensive English. There are many online translation services such as Google Translate. However, translating from English to non-European languages is poor and this is unacceptable when it comes to precise medical information, where errors can have permanent negative health consequences.
The solution is to translate large number of documents from English to Arabic language in a fast, very accurate and cost-effective way which would be unique in the market. We implemented the AI translation from English to Arabic (which scores 35% – 85% accuracy) and improved it by crowdsourcing of reviews and corrections. The improvements were fed back to AI and used to intelligently update the articles throughout the database.
